Union of Agricultural Work Comittees (UAWC): Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) bulldoze farmers lands in Joreesh
Ramallah – UAWC announced that IOF bulldozed retaining walls and barbed wires, and uprooted seedlings belonged to Na’el and Ali Mansour farmers, in Joreesh village in Nablus.
According to Engineer Sa’adeh Abu Sheikha, the coordinator of land reclamation project in UAWC, IOF imposed a curfew in the village and carried out a demolition and confiscation processes. Noting that the targeted lands come within the project to improve the standard of living in the West Bank (funded by the Netherlands Government), which was carried out by the participation of many agricultural NGOs under the management of Palestinian Agricultural Relief Committees (PARC), as well as to the funding from Netherlands Representative Office (NRO). The project implemented in Joreesh, Urif, Deir Sharaf, Aqraba and Nesf Jbeil villages in the province.
It is noteworthy that the project is carried out in the Israeli-controlled Area “C”, where the Israeli Occupation Authorities handed three demolition warnings to farmers in Joreesh village. However, the demolition came after finishing the implementation of the project.
