UAWC continues implementation of its project “Deprived Families Economic Empowerment Program (DEEP)
Ramallah- the Union of Agricultural Work Committees continues implementation of its project “Deprived Families Economic Empowerment Program (DEEP)”, which is implemented by UAWC in partnership with United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and is funded by Islamic Development Bank in the governorates of Tulkarm and Salfit, where UAWC completed the implementation of 27 projects which benefited 55 families
The overall objective of “DEEP” project is to improve the economic standards of living for the Palestinians, through stimulating the economic growth for Palestinian families, reducing the phenomenon of unemployment and improving the livelihood standards in the poor rural communities.
The project coordinator, Mohamed Yassin, illustrated the criteria for selecting the project beneficiaries, which mainly depended on Families lists provided by the Ministry of Social Affairs, then UAWC conducted a survey to investigate the families available resources such as human, physical, financial, social, natural
Furthermore, Yassin pointed out that the project provided a specialized training in project management aspects to all the beneficiaries and helped them to prepared their project action plan; thus they can have a line-of-sight on their project future .
It should be noted that “DEEP” program implemented various projects in the governorates of Tulkarm and Salfit such as (grocers, Men and Women’s Salons, household products, popular restaurants, Clothing Shops, construction projects, Cosmetics Shops, sewing machines, shoes stores, and computer games shop.. etc
Moreover, UAWC’s economic feasibility experts arranges monthly visits for the project beneficiaries to investigate the project progress, monitor their financial statements and provide any consultation required
