Official Announcement of UAWC as a Winner in the UNDP’s Equator Prize Winners in New York

The United Nations Development Agency (UNDP) announced the winners of the Equator Prize 2014, where it was awarded in New York, in which the Union of Agricultural Work Committees (UAWC) is among the winners for its leading role in the fight against poverty and sustainable development through its Seed Bank Project initiative. The awarding was in the presence of more than 2,000 international and personal figures, with a number of presidents, ministers, kings, former senior representatives, artists and many other well-known figures.

The Director of UAWC’s Operations and Development Department Engineer Fuad Abu Seif received the award on behalf of UAWC. UAWC’s award winning will encourage the development of new methods to preserve natural resources thus preserving the Palestinian heritage.

Abu Seif stressed that this award has highlighted UAWC’s ethical commitment to support and empower small-scaled farmers.

UAWC now proudly joins the network of the 187 total winners of this prestigious Award.
