UAWC organizes an exchange visit for a group of cooperatives
17/3/2019 – a group of cooperatives from the Hebron governorate visited Kufor Lakef Cooperative in Qalqilya, which is managed by a group of leading women in the field of local development and ground thyme products. UAWC organized this activity as part of an exchange program intended to exchange skills and successful experiences between cooperatives. A total of 19 women participated in the visit. Participants from Dura Cooperative, Al-Shuyoukh Cooperative, the Union of Cooperative Associations for Saving and Credit (UCASC) joined, in addition to a representative from the Directorate of Agriculture of Qalqilia and UAWC. The aim of the visit was to benefit from the experience of Kufor Lakef Cooperative and its expertise in producing ground thyme in an effort to promote marketing opportunities between the cooperatives. The visit was organized under the scope of the project to support economic growth through optimized agricultural value chains in the West Bank. The project is funded by Global Affairs Canada and implemented by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and UAWC in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture.
