Limited incursion into Al-Maghazi and Targeting of Fishermen in Al-Sudanyia
On Monday morning, an Israeli occupation force consisting of 6 tanks and bulldozers carried out a limited incursion into the eastern area of Al-Maghazi in central Gaza Strip.
This Israeli force advanced into the east of Al-Maghazi amid intensive gunfire and bulldozed the area.
In the same context, The Israeli navy opened fire today morning towards Palestinian fishermen at Al- Sodanyia in the northern coast of Gaza Strip, and fired warning shots toward them.
Mentioned that Israel has controlled Gaza waters since its occupation of the area in 1967 and prevented ships from docking in Gaza.
During the Oslo accords negotiators had agreed on 20 nautical miles of fishing access along Gaza’s coastline. After Al-Aqsa Intifada the distance was reduced to 8 nautical miles, then after the recent blokade -five years ago- Israel reduced the distance to 3 nautical miles.
