Gaza: UAWC Completes the First Phase of Supporting the Affected Families Project
Gaza- The Union of Agricultural Work Committees completed the first phase of “Supporting the Affected Families in their access to water in northern Gaza Strip” project funded by Overseas organization, in which UAWC distributed 726 water tanks on families affected from the latest war on Gaza in Bet Hanoun, Bet Lahia, east of Jabalia, to enhance the ability of small farmers in improving their living standard and reinforce their steadfastness.
The second phase of the project includes the rehabilitation of eight agricultural water wells and the implementation of irrigation networks in northern Gaza Strip. The project is expected to link 240 dunums of land that is owned by 48 farmers with water networks.
It is important to note that “Supporting the Affected Families in their access to water in northern Gaza Strip” project targets the agricultural land affected by the latest war on Gaza that resulted in the damage of agricultural water wells and farmers’ structures and crops.
