UAWC calls to stop displacement crime against Palestinians living in the Khan al-Ahmar area
Ramallah - The Union of Agricultural Work Committees (UAWC) condemns the decision of the Israeli government to expel citizens of Khan Al-Ahmar area, this decision shows the insistence of the Israeli government on continuing their settlement expansion despite all international resolutions that condemn them.
In this context, UAWC considers the displacement of the inhabitants of the Khan al-Ahmar area a war crime and a real violation of all international conventions, in particular, it is a flagrant violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention Article 49 that "The occupying power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own population into the territories it occupies".
In addition, UAWC stresses that this occupation policy represents a new displacement of Bedouin who was originally displaced from their lands in 1948. UAWC also consider it as an ethnic cleansing of Palestinians living in their own lands, where the Israeli occupation intensifies their settlement policy to implement their settlement plan E1.
Therefore, UAWC calls upon all the human rights organizations and international organizations to stop this crime that will threaten the lives of 32 families, with the aim of displacing 32 families in favour the expansion of Ma'ale Adumim, the second largest settlement in the West Bank.
