UAWC and Qalqilia Governor discusses opportunities for cooperation with each other
The Governor of Qalqiliya, Rafea Rawajba, discussed with a delegation from the Union of Agricultural Work Committees (UAWC) represented by Fuad Abu Saif, UAWC's Director, the opportunities to promote joint cooperation.
"The land is at the centre of the conflict, and the occupation is seeking to force their control over it in favour of the settlement projects, Thus, we have to concentrate our efforts to strengthen the steadfastness of our people and their attachment to their land," Rawjbah said.
Mr. Rawajbah welcomed the attendance, noting that the agricultural sector is the most important sector in Palestine. Therefore, we have to work for the sake of farmers, especially for those who are living in area classified as "C", and mainly focus on land development projects, stressing the importance of investment in the agricultural sector to enhance the developmental aspect in the governorates, calling on international institutions to increase their support for this sector.
For his part, Abu Saif pointed out that UAWC gives the governorate of Qalqilya a special priority for its special circumstances due to the constant Israeli attacks and violations for this governorate and its people.
Finally, the attendees discussed several issues related to water resources situation and the mechanisms to promote the agricultural sector in Palestine through various development projects.
