A Delegation from the Netherland Representative Office and UAWC visit Land Reclamation Project in Halhoul
Hebron - A delegation from the Netherland Representative Office and UAWC visited land
reclamation project in Halhoul village to learn about the importance of such
project in agricultural development.
The delegation included
Deputy Director General for Development Cooperation in the Netherland Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rina Bogis, Deputy Ambassador and a number
of accompanying. As well as, Eng. Fuad
Abu Saif, Eng. Majed Nasser and the Director of the second phase of the Land
and Water Resource Management for Agriculture Development in the West Bank
Program, Eng. Ibrahim Al-Harini.
The aim of this visit is to
oversee the work progress of Land and Water Resource Management for Agriculture
Development in the West Bank Program, which is funded by the Netherland Representative Office and is implemented by UAWC,
in partnership with the Palestinian Hydrology Group (PHG), Land Research Center
(LRC) and the Economic and Social Development Center of Palestine (ESDC) in
coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture
the visit, UAWC's team gave a detailed explanation about the program and the
activities carried out, namely land reclamation, construction of water wells,
planting of seedlings, and opening agricultural roads.
Furthermore, the delegation met with a
number of farmers and listened to their point of views on the extent of their benefit
from the project, where the beneficiaries stressed on the importance of such
project in enabling them to reclaim their lands and protect them from the
threat of confiscation, in addition to improving their living conditions.
