UAWC cultivates 4000 olive trees on the eastern areas of Gaza.
The Union of Agricultural Work Committees- UAWC finished the planting of 4000 olive trees in the eastern areas of Gaza. These lands with total of 135 dunums have been damaged by the continuous and different types of Israeli Occupation attacks. The UAWC distributed and delivered olive trees for 135 farmers, 30 trees per dunum. The targeted areas and farmlands located in the eastern of Khanyounis, Gaza and Jabalia.
The planting of 4,000 olive trees was part of the (Supporting Vulnerable Farmers and fishermen in the Gaza Strip) project, funded by the Grass Roots International and implemented by the Union of Agricultural Work Committees.
It is worth mentioning that UAWC is always supportive of farmers in the border areas known as Access Restricted Areas- ARA in order to enhance the steadfastness of the farmers in these areas and enable them to access their land and secure their livelihoods through its various projects and activities in these areas.
