UAWC concluded their "Existance is Resistance" campaign
UAWC concluded Saturday the "Existence resistance" campaign for olive picking, with the participation of a total of 500 local and international volunteers who participated in the various sites targeted by the campaign. The campaign was launched on 11/10/2018 from the village of Yasuf in Salfit governorate and ended in the villages of Susiya in Hebron and the village of Tirmsaya in Ramallah.
The campaign, launched annually by the Federation, included the support of 30 farming families in eight different locations in the West Bank, where their land is considered to be in danger or hard to reach by land farmers. The start was from the village of Yasuf in Salfit, close to the settlements of "Shilo" and "Shvut Rahil" located on the land of the village there, and in the lands close to the bypass streets built on land belonging to the villages of Araba in Jenin and Kafrmalk in the governorate of Ramallah.
The campaign also targeted farmers in the village of Ni'lin in the Ramallah governorate, whose land is located near the annexation wall, which devours dozens of dunums of village land. It targeted land confiscated by farmers from the village of Batir in Bethlehem governorate and lands near the settlement of Beitar Illit, On the land belonging to the village of Nahhalin, to conclude the campaign in Khirbat Susiya threatened with complete demolition.
"Such a campaign is important to support farmers, especially those who have completed the campaign in one day instead of three days, and have helped protect them because their land is in areas of friction," said Mohammed Attiani, one of the farmers targeted by the campaign.
It is worth mentioning that the agricultural work annually launches a voluntary campaign to support farmers in picking olive harvest, in which hundreds of local and international volunteers participate, in line with its main goal of protecting the land and supporting the Palestinian farmer in the face of daily attacks by the Israeli government and its settlers against Palestinian farmers picking olives.
