UAWC Starts a Series of Training Sessions for Agricultural, Veterinary and Environmental Graduates Within the Economic Empowerment Program
Union of Agricultural Work Committees started executing the first training for agricultural, veterinary and environmental graduates (agricultural engineers and veterinarians) within the “Economic Empowerment for Palestinian Youth Project”, which is funded by the Islamic Development Bank through the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in partnership with the Ministry of Social Development.
The training will initially takes place in Nablus Governorate and include graduates from various governorates (Tulkarm, Jenin, Qalqiliya, Tubas, Jericho and Jerusalem), the training aims to strengthen the capabilities of students in managing small projects and financial records operation, and teach them how to prepare business plans for small enterprises, the training is expected take place for 8 consecutive days with the total of 48 training hours.
This project is one UAWC’s programs that taget graduate students from agricultural colleges who have pioneering ideas for non-traditional projects, and aims to enable these graduate students because of the high unemployment rates in Palestine in general, especially within majors related to agricultural and environmental sciences and veterinary.
Once the training is completed, students with useful business plans will be provided with non-traditional, income-generating development agricultural projects.
